Mission:
The Narberth Area Garden Club formed in the summer of 2004 after a group of local gardeners attended the Narberth Librarys Garden Tour. Over strawberries and ice cream, talk of a "community of gardeners" spurred planning for a series of monthly programs by local gardeners, ideas for an annual keynote address, and the donation of any surplus funds to help the Narberth Library or other area groups whose missions support gardening-related or environmental causes.
The name chosen by the planning group, "Narberth Area Garden Club," respects the seed planted in front of the Narberth Library and encourages community by reaching across municipal boundaries.
Online Yahoo Group
The NAGC yahoo discussion group is a great way to keep up with NAGC activities, news and notes. To join this group, send an email to Ellen Briggs and let her know that you want to be part of the discussion group. The Yahoo group has been used to seek gardening advice and to offer plants when splitting perennials. Members are encouraged to use this discussion group to keep in touch between meetings. |
